England captain damaged ligaments in his foot in Friday's defeat
Leeds Rhinos have suffered a fresh injury blow with the news that Jamie Peacock has damaged ligaments in his foot.
The England captain limped off with an ankle injury in the 24th minute of the Rhinos' 17-10 home defeat to Hull KR on Friday.
The Super League champions already had nine players missing for that game and the club's head of physiotherapy Meirion Jones confirmed on Sunday that the prop forward has joined their lengthy casualty list.
Jones said: "Jamie Peacock has damaged ligaments in his foot.
Further investigations
"He is having further investigations to clarify the exact extent of the damage.
"We will be able to give a more accurate prognosis once we have the results of those scans."
The Rhinos are currently without long-term absentees Carl Ablett, Scott Donald, Greg Eastwood, and Kallum Watkins.
Danny Buderus (foot), Tom Bush (knee) and Ryan Hall (knee) also missed the loss to Rovers, while Ryan Bailey was ruled out of the game through illness.
Coach Brian McClennan gave debuts to Chris Clarkson, Michael Coady and Kyle Amor in the game, but to no avail as his side lost and slumped to eighth in the table.
