French forward moves to Bradford on temporary deal
Bradford Bulls are hoping the capture of hooker Julien Rinaldi on a temporary deal will help move them up the Super League table.
The 29-year-old French international has previously played for Catalans Dragons and Harlequins but new Rugby Football League rules on foreign imports have hitherto left him without a Super League club this season.
However, Bulls coach Steve McNamara is optimistic that Rinaldi, who will stay until June, can help bolster a squad looking to fight its way up from 12th place.
"There was a need to strengthen the squad at this time and with both Paul Deacon and Wayne Godwin out injured that has put a whole lot of pressure on our halves," McNamara said.
"In Julien Rinaldi we have a French international who is comfortable playing either at hooker or in the halves. He is very quick, a good offensive player with a good kicking game as well so we are really happy we can get him on board."
Rinaldi, who arrives from Australia on Monday, added: "I'm really happy to be back. I've only signed for two months but want to give it another crack, help the Bulls get back up the table and hopefully prove I'm worth a longer contract."
