Castleford Tigers sign former Warrington Wolves winger Joel Monaghan

Castleford Tigers have completed the signing of winger Joel Monaghan on a two-year deal.
The 33-year-old averaged a try a match in his 145 appearances for Warrington Wolves before his release from the club at the end of the 2015 season.
Catalan Dragons and Salford Red Devils were linked with moves for Monaghan following his exit from the Halliwell Jones Stadium, however the Australian has decided to commit his future to Castleford until 2017.
"I'm really excited. This is a team that are challenging for trophies and top fours. Cas are a very well coached side and they are a very good bunch of blokes. I know a couple of the guys but I'm looking forward to pre-season and getting to know the rest of them," Monaghan said.
"It's a great place down here at the Jungle and a very hard place for teams to come and get a win. When I told my dad I'd signed here he was happy because the Jungle is always his favourite ground to come to."
Castleford coach Daryl Powell added: "Joel Monaghan is a high quality and experienced winger to add to our backline. He is a proven try scorer with good leadership skills and I expect him to help drive our standards in 2016."
Monaghan, who won State of Origin honours with New South Wales and played for Australia in the 2008 World Cup final, was captain of Warrington in his final year at the club.
Although Monaghan can play centre, his signing casts further doubt over the future of his fellow Australian winger Justin Carney, whose internal suspension was lifted by Castleford last month following a disciplinary investigation.
