Phil Clarke brings you his top five Super 8s tries of the week.

Phil Clarke picks his top five tries from the weekend's Super League Super 8s and Qualifiers.

5. Adam Higson v Bradford

I'm still not sure which was the most impressive aspect of this try; the pass or the put-down. With Leigh trailing 10-0, Bob Beswick's skill matched his ambition as he threw the ball from left to right over the heads of two defenders. Adam Higson's finish was fantastic.

4. George Williams v St Helens

It takes a special player to score a try like this in a derby game at St Helens, and the young Wigan half-back is clearly that. He'd win my vote for Young Player of the Year, and has shown that he can score and set up tries all year.

3. Luke Gale v Leeds

With the scores locked at 16-16 at the start of the 2nd half, the Tigers scored a game-changing try. Matt Cook's run was incredible, and - as Eddie said - it was one of the tries of the season. But not quite as good as what came next…

2. Ben Roberts v Leeds

This back-to-back try was the one that helped the Tigers re-write history. None of the players were even born the last time that Castleford had won at Headingley twice in one season. Ben Roberts' run was impressive - but so too was the magic from Luke Gale who gave it back to him.

1. Josh Jones v Wigan

Perhaps it wasn't the most spectacular try of the weekend - but it was the most significant. The old 'up and under' has gone on for years, yet rarely has it led to scenes like this in St Helens, where we witnessed up close the ecstasy and agony that sport provides. How significant will this try be over the next three weeks?
