Australian knows Wigan must be on top form to defeat Leeds
Wigan half-back Brett Finch insists his side's decision to take on Leeds on Friday does not mean the Rhinos are being regarded as easier opposition.
The Warriors opted to face the defending Super League champions for a place in this year's Grand Final rather than Warrington, who finished second to Wigan over the course of the regular season.
Wigan opened their play-off campaign with a thumping win over Catalan Dragons and will welcome the Rhinos to the DW Stadium after enjoying one more week of rest than their opponents.
But Finch says the Warriors are expecting the toughest test possible regardless of the Clubcall choice.
"It (the Clubcall system) is probably something that the players don't appreciate too much. We know how hard it is to beat any team in Super League, especially the defending champions," the Australian told
Sky Sports.
"Leeds' record speaks for itself, they've been in this position many times before and we know how hard it's going to be.
Tough
"At this time of year whoever you play is going to be tough, they're all hard teams and they've proven themselves to get to this stage.
"We've got Leeds, who have been here and done it time and time again. We played them in the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup and they knocked us out pretty easily, so we know what to expect on Friday."
Wigan slumped to a 39-28 defeat in their cup semi-final clash with the Rhinos in July and Finch says a repeat of that result is possible if his side let their guard down.
He added: "It was very disappointing but we were totally outplayed and outclassed by a better side. We understand that if we turn up and don't play our best, the same result will happen.
"We know what's coming and we know that we are going to have to play somewhere near our best to progress to the Grand Final."
Finch will return to Australia at the end of the season and is determined to end his two-year stint at Wigan with a trip to Old Trafford.
"The two years I've spent over here in Super League has been a great experience for me and obviously I'm looking forward to finishing it on the best possible note," he said.
