Wigan are making sure both mind and body will be in peak condition for Super League's first match outside Europe against Hull FC in New South Wales on Saturday.
As part of their preparations, the Warriors had a meditation session at a Buddhist temple in Wollongong, one of many new experiences for the players.
"The woman who took us was fairly strict and, if your posture wasn't right, she had a big wooden stick," said forward Tony Clubb.
"Some of these young kids have never left Wigan, let alone travelled halfway across the world, so it's a massive learning curve for them. But it's going to put them in good stead, coming out of their comfort zone, and it's a good life experience in a beautiful part of the world."
Both teams are coming to terms with jet-lag and moving from a Wigan winter to an Australian summer.
"It's 28 degrees so it's a bit different but the jet-lag is killing me. I go to bed at 10 and still get up at four in the morning and I'm not the only one, but hopefully in a day or two we'll be over it," added Clubb.
Wigan and Hull will be competing for the Kenny-Sterling shield on Saturday as well as two Super League points this weekend. The shield is named after Australian rugby league greats Brett Kenny and Peter Sterling.
They met in the 1985 Challenge Cup final, regarded as one of the greatest of all time, with Kenny's Wigan beating Sterling's Hull FC 28-24.
