Prop makes Rabbitohs squad a week after Leeds release

Former Rhino Luke Burgess is set to make his NRL debut for South Sydney after being named on the bench for Sunday's clash with Cronulla. The 24-year-old prop, who has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the club, will make his first appearance Down Under just a week after he was released by Leeds. Wakefield-born Burgess flew out to Australia at the weekend to join up with his new club and younger brothers Sam and George, who both play for the Rabbitohs. The fourth Burgess brother Tom - George's twin - remains in the UK where he plies his trade at the Bradford Bulls. Luke, who has not played since the Rhinos' home win against Catalan Dragons on May 13, was named in John Lang's squad as the coach struggles with a front-row injury crisis. Lang's injury woes include 22-year-old Sam, who is sidelined long-term with an ankle injury.
