Huddersfield made light of Hull KR and a lengthy delay due to a floodlight failure to record a 38-16 victory at New Craven Park.
Danny Brough scored two tries and kicked four goals as the Giants bounced back from a home loss to Wigan to move up to second in the table.
Rovers had led 6-0 in the early stages but were never ahead again as their miserable start to the 2011 Super League campaign continued.
The gloom at New Craven Park wasn't just confined to those spectators in the stands either, as the game was held up after one of the floodlight towers suffered a power failure towards the end of the first half.
Bright start
Robins boss Justin Morgan might now be cursing the electrician who got the llights working again, though things had looked much brighter for his side in the opening minutes of the contest.
Having impressed on his home debut against Crusaders, Willie Mason made an immediate impact on Huddersfield, albeit in a rather unusual way.
The giant forward found himself passed the ball on the last tackle and although his flat kick looked aimless at first, the ball bounced awkwardly.
As Jermaine McGillvary dallied over what to do, Kris Welham stole in to seize possession and then round last-man Scott Grix to score.
McGillvary, though, made amends for his error in defence when he drew the Giants level with an easy run-in at the right corner, Brough adding the extras from tight to the touchline before putting his side ahead on 14 minutes.
The stand-off grabbed the 70th try of his career though few could have been easier, David Faimu's offload and Grix's pass leaving him to simply canter over next to the uprights.
A 12-6 half-time lead looked set to be wasted, though, when the faulty floodlight pylon led to doubts over whether the game would re-start.
Eventually the issue was resolved and it was the Giants who came out of the traps the fastest after the extended break, Lee Gilmour running through a gaping hole down the right of Hull KR's defensive line before offloading to the supporting Michael Lawrence to finish.
The centre should have had a second soon after too but David Hodgson's pass back on the inside was poor, leading to Lawrence knocking on.
Fortunate
Ben Fisher did get Rovers back in the hunt by scooting over from dummy half, though he was fortunate that the video referee couldn't rule that Ben Galea's play-the-ball had actually been kicked forwards.
However, Rovers' comeback bid was a dealt a blow when the impressive Brough completed his brace.
The former Hull man dropped on a loose ball in the in-goal area after his kick had taken a fortunate bounce off opposite number Blake Green into Gilmour's path, who then hacked it past full-back Sean Briscoe.
Welham bagged his second try but Grix turned the lights out on the Robins with an easy run-in following Luke Robinson's break from dummy half.
The final scoreline ended up with a rather one-sided look with two more tries from the visitors before the final hooter, hooker Robinson going over from close range before David Hodgson stumbled in at the left corner.
