New signing Danny Brough is in contention to make his Huddersfield Giants debut against St Helens on Sunday.
Brough's switch to the Galpharm Stadium from Wakefield Wildcats was confirmed on Wednesday and Giants coach Nathan Brown is likely to put him straight into the starting line-up.
Luke Robinson is set to switch to hooker in order to accommodate Brough at half-back.
"Danny has got a great kicking game and that's one area where we think he can help us," Brown said.
"We think he can definitely improve our team.
"Robbo can move positions. He re-signed recently knowing what was going to happen and he's happy to play a role within the team.
"Danny will train over the next few days and we'll see what happens about Sunday.
"As long as he feels comfortable and the rest of the players are comfortable, I won't have an issue with it."
Battle
Brough, however, believes he faces a battle to secure a regular first-team place.
"I'd love to play against St Helens but we'll just have to wait and see," he said.
"I don't know whether Nathan will want to change a winning team or not.
"All I want to do is get down to training, learn how the team plays, bond with the players and see what they can do. I've been here two days and learnt a lot already.
"But I also know that with the quality of players there are here, I can't expect to walk straight into the side. I'm here to fight for my place."
The Giants also welcome back centres Paul Whatuira and Jamahl Lolesi from injury.
The duo's return enables Stephen Wild and former Saints favourite Lee Gilmour to revert to the back row and help plug the gap created by the loss of David Fa'alogo to a hamstring strain.
Injuries
St Helens will be without Paul Wellens and Sia Soliola at the Galpharm Stadium.
Full-back Wellens is sidelined for a month with a torn quad muscle, while centre/second rower Soliola will miss the rest of the season with knee ligament damage.
With Wellens' natural understudy Jonny Lomax also out through injury, Matt Gidley or Kyle Eastmond are likely to switch to full-back.
Andrew Dixon plugs the gap caused by Soliola's absence but there is still no place for former Huddersfield prop Nick Fozzard.
