Catalan Dragons extended their unbeaten run to six games by claiming a shock 13-12 victory over Engage Super League leaders Huddersfield.
The Dragons, who have beaten both Wigan and Warrington in recent weeks, edged home in Perpignan thanks to a drop goal from scrum-half Scott Dureau.
Huddersfield have now lost two of their last three and will lose top spot if either Warrington or St Helens win on Sunday or Monday respectively.
Catalan made a dream start when prop David Ferriol collected to Ian Henderson's short ball for a first-minute score after Danny Brough kicked out on the full from the kick-off.
Dureau added the extras and Brough then bounced the ball into touch from the restart to allow the Giants to retain possession.
Run
The visitors capitalised as Scott Grix went on a snaking run that ended with Lee Gilmour crossing the try-line, with Brough's conversion levelling the scores.
The Giants then took the lead in the 21st minute as Grix added the finishing touch after Luke O'Donnell and Larne Patrick had combined well in the build up.
Both sides then had tries chalked off, Remi Casty being denied after a knock-on from Damien Blanch and Huddersfield skipper Kevin Brown had his score ruled out for a forward pass.
Catalan got back on level terms with just over a quarter of the match left to play when Jason Baitieri scored from Henderson's pass and Dureau slotted over the extras.
Prolific Huddersfield winger Jermaine McGilvary had a try wiped out out for a two-on-one steal before Dureau nailed the decisive one-pointer from 40 yards out with nine minutes remaining.
There was still time for Gilmour to break, but he was hauled down by Cyril Stacul and the Dragons held on to the narrow win.
