Winger Jermaine McGillvary scored two tries on his debut as Huddersfield crushed Bradford 52-6 at the Grattan Odsal.
The 22-year-old was loaned out to Batley and Barrow after being unable to force his way into the side earlier in the season, but capitalised on his opportunity to touch down twice as the Giants led 28-0 at the break.
The Bulls were unable to lift themselves following their Challenge Cup defeat to Warrington, missing the injured Matt Orford, Brett Kearney, Jamie Langley and James Donaldson.
By contrast, Huddersfield ended their four-match losing run to move ahead of the Bulls into sixth in the Super League, as skipper Brett Hodgson led from the front with 20 points.
It was largely one-way traffic from the moment second rower Lee Gilmour touched down Hodgson's grubber kick on five minutes after it had taken a wicked deflection off a defender.
There was no luck involved, though, when David Hodgson finished off a well-rehearsed move for his 17th try of the season 10 minutes later nor when Leroy Cudjoe found an unmarked McGillvary to get him over for his first try.
Cudjoe then supported Kevin Brown's clean break through the middle to touch down before McGillvary demonstrated exceptional pace to touch down Brett Hodgson's kick to the corner.
Bradford rarely threatened the Giants line and when they eventually managed to break down the visitors' defence Paul Sykes had the misfortune to lose the ball over the line.
Huddersfield were unable to maintain their high standards after the break but extended their lead on 56 minutes when Danny Brough's high kick eluded Rikki Sheriffe to gift a try to Luke Robinson.
Brett Hodgson bemused the home defence with a weaving run to touch down before Bradford pulled a consolation try back through ever-willing back row forward Steve Menzies, goaled by Sykes.
The game deteriorated as the rain descended but Huddersfield added to their try tally when prop Darrell Griffin forced his way over from close range and David Hodgson took another incisive pass from his namesake Brett to score his second, which took him clear at the top of the League scoring list.
