Uncle John lines up on the back of a recent win and can follow up at the expense of Desert Google, Tharua and Truman. Uncle John is in fact one of only two in this line-up that can boast recent victories, the other being Edgehill, but Uncle John impressed with his attitude when making all at Bath 19 days ago, battling on well when tackled inside the final two furlongs. The drop back to 10 furlongs will not tax his stamina as much, and he should once again make a bold bid to dominate from start to finish. Desert Google tries this trip for the first time and gets a drop in grade to help her cause, so a better run can be expected here. Tharua has been placed on a number of occasions and is another that tries an extra furlong, but she has basically been frustrating to follow and could find this level more to her liking. Truman has shown little in four starts this term, including here last time, but again this grade is not as taxing. There may well be a springer or two in the market, but Uncle John has already shown what he can do and is taken to repeat the feat.
