The John Gosden-trained Doctrine can put her experience to good use here and win the opener, her biggest dangers being Aurelia, Queen Of Scots and Maganda. The selection appeared to be suited by this trip when second to a decent animal at Nottingham last time (Dolly Wotnot is held on that form) and comes here fit and well. Aurelia cost 45,000 guineas and, being by Rainbow Quest out of a Shirley heights, should stay middle-distances next season. There is plenty to like in her breeding but the selection might just be a little too sharp for her today. From the Sir Michael Stoute yard, the Dr Fong filly, Queen Of Scots, merits respect, particularly if the market speaks in her favour. With the Jarvis stable in good form, Maganda, a Sadler's Wells half-sister to the top-class Kutub, is also very interesting. A market move for her would be interesting. As with each of the selection's nominated main opponents, she should make up into a nice filly for newt year and win races. River Of Babylon cost 50,000 guineas and, being related to a number of winners, could also go well. Tarandot has a fairly similar profile and cost 50,000 guineas. It has all the makings of a fascinating opener but maybe Doctrine's experience will count in the final analysis.
