Darjeeling should come on a bundle for her recent reappearance at Aintree and is taken to open her account for the season at the main expense of Penneyrose Bay and Early Start. The last mentioned has run to a similar level of form in two previous starts this term and should again be thereabouts but may, once more, have to settle for a minor role. Floreana would have claims if fit enough for her return and the market may be the best guide as to her chances, while Almah has yet to prove herself over this far. Being trained by Martin Pipe, Calamintha has to be respected although more solid claims are held by recent Worcester winner Penneyrose Bay but an 11lb rise for Jonathan Geake's mare may just anchor her. Darjeeling ran promisingly on her return at Aintree though and should improve for the run so she gets the vote.
