Pomfret Lad, Divine Spirit and Henry Hall are the three against the field in this bookies' benefit and preference is for the veteran ten year old Henry Hall to land another course and distance win. All three are drawn well and with little decent recent form to draw upon, the draw may well hold the key. Pomfret Lad failed to reach the winners' enclosure last summer but ran some good races in defeat. He must be respected, and the handicapper has dropped him three pounds, which seems generous. He was just short of Listed class earlier in his career and should not be under estimated. Divine Spirit has not raced for five months but is the epitome of consistency if a ;little frustrating, as he fails to find a finishing kick. He is respected, but his winless run stretches back almost two years so he is passed over. Henry Hall's winless run goes back even further but he appears well handicapped on some of last season's form and is dropped a couple of pounds here for his seasonal debut. He was especially unlucky not to win at Ripon last season and can profit from this excellent draw. Henry hall can come out on top.
