In depth

Verdict

Henry Daly's Thievery has ability but has become somewhat expensive to follow since last being successful when landing a handicap chase at Hereford in November 2008 and he looks best watched despite having been given a chance by the handicapper in a race taken to go to AJZAL, who gets the vote over Stuff Of Dreams. Ferdy Murphy's mare has been well held in both starts this term but she has been given a chance by the handicapper having been dropped 3lbs since her most recent start and has to be considered on this ground. Mick Easterby's Bright Sparky failed to complete when last seen over fences in December but has been running better on the flat of late and comes here following a win at Wolverhampton on his most recent start in February so he has to be considered. The Evan Williams-trained New Rackheath looked beaten before unseating his rider at Chepstow last time and is hard to recommend with any confidence and a better bet looks to be Ajzal. Tom George's gelding was there with every chance when falling at the last at Hereford last month and he looks worth another chance off an admittedly higher mark but in a weaker looking contest.
