Verdict

Viva La Flag gets the vote over newcomer Amarna, with Know The Law, Shela House and Moon Valley all likely to make their presence felt. Viva La Flag has run two solid races in defeat at Goodwood so far, finishing fourth to Truly Enchanting on her debut before finding two slightly more experienced rivals too good when stepped up to a mile at the Sussex track next time. John Dunlop's inmates invariably keep improving, and the filly is selected to come good. Godolphin collected last year with Desert Authority, and now unleash Amarna, a full-brother to Librettist no less. Reported to have been working well at home, it would be no surprise were he to be in the shake-up. Know The Law was a bit disappointing when only third at Brighton, as connections expected him to win, and he should figure as well, although a step up to 10-furlongs and a career in handicaps beckons. Shela House caught the eye at Folkestone but may not appreciate the easy going, while Moon Valley will at least benefit from the return to maiden company after humping 10st in a Windsor handicap last time. Without being too confident, Viva La Flag has sound claims and is the pick.
