A lowly seller gets proceedings underway, and we'll side with Elaine's Folly ahead of Scenic Pass and Carmanjoe. The selection is one of two Pat Haslam runners, the other being Rioja Ruby. Elaine's Folly has to defy joint top weight, but has an ideal high draw, and has won here over this distance in similar conditions. She's not progressed in higher company since though. Mick Channon has a decent strike rate here, and if Scenic Pass can show the same sort of form that saw her win at Thirsk in June, she can't be discounted. That was in a better race, and this the lowest quality she's faced to date. She's joint top weight with the selection, and also the only other one to have won at this distance, and she drops back from 7 furlongs over which she's been used to of late. Carmanjoe will hope there's been little rain. He's yet to improve on his second placing on debut at Southwell, but that's perhaps because he's mainly run on slower ground. A low draw may be a hindrance. It's not a contest to get overly excited about, but we'll side with Elaine's Folly.
