Marcus Tregoning's newcomer Dawaleeb is superbly bred and is one to keep on the right side, however we expect Crimson to land this decent looking event, with Sunday Smile also expected to be involved. Mick Channon's filly was well supported on her debut at Haydock but didn't do herself justice after running very green. She will no doubt have learnt a lot from that experience and will be difficult to beat this afternoon. Dawaleeb is a 75,000 guineas daughter of Alhaarth and she can be expected to know her job, watch for any clues in the market. The same applies to the Gosden debutante Nannina. Sunday Smile does have the benefit of a previous run, a promising fifth behind High Heel Sneakers at Thirsk, she should make her presence felt. All in all a very tricky start to proceedings, but Crimson is the one we like.
