A handful of these were scheduled to run yesterday, so there is the possibility of a depleted field going to post. However, Sadler's Cove makes plenty of appeal whatever happens and he is nominated ahead of He's A Hotshot and River Tigris. Compton Eclaire is also in with a shout at this level but she does nothing quickly and her first visit to Perth will need to spark a sharp revival in her fortunes over jumps. River Tigris picks up a penalty for winning at Bangor eight days ago but still has scope to progress. David Pipe has not over faced him by coming here and a bold attempt can be expected from the top weight. He's A Hotshot is a lightly raced type and, having proved consistent so far, he has to make it on to the shortlist. However, it remains to be seen if this will come around too quickly for him and a careful monitoring of the betting is advised if he takes his chance today. Even so, we prefer the claims held by Sadler's Cove, as he has really thrived since the turn of the year. The nine-year-old acts on any type of ground and, as this is little better than the seller he won at Hexham in June, he can give his trainer Joe (and his son Steve) Magee another fun day out at the races.
