No fewer than four last-time-out winners line up here but there are reasons to oppose all of them. Avertuoso is now 10lb higher than when scoring for this rider at Catterick, Cardinal looks to need every yard of six furlongs, Wreningham hasn't won on turf away from Yarmouth and Speedyfix has struggled off much lower marks in the past and appears to have been very harshly treated by the handicapper. With that in mind we'll take a chance on FIRST SWALLOW, whose best form so far has come at Southwell. However, he has won over this trip on turf and that success came on similar ground under Paul Hanagan off just a pound lower. The more the sun shines the worse his chance becomes but we're keen to side with him ahead of the strong-travelling Towy Boy who hasn't yet won on turf, with Bouncy Bouncy considered the biggest threat back on a suitable surface with Spencer up for the first time.
