Verdict

Namat gets the call here ahead of Feed The Meter. The Willie Jarvis-trained selection won at Ripon last time in pleasing enough fashion and is entitled to build on that. Granted, that win did come on good to soft and it is hardly earth-shattering form, but, that said, this is not a strong race and, only lightly-raced, she is entitled to run very well under a six-pound penalty. Feed The Meter, who has won three of her last five races from a highest mark of 68 , rates the danger from a mark 73 with that good young rider, and seven-pound claimer, Saleem Golam taking the ride. Overall, Harrycat has a bit to prove today for our way of thinking, Merrymaker has something to prove on Turf from his current mark, and the import Coronado's Gold has even more to prove, This returns us to Namat, who gets the vote.
