    Verdict

Previous course and distance winner Vaughan gets the vote over Topkat, with Top The Charts and Suivez Moi others worth noting. Amanda Perrett has her team in good order at present, and this drop in grade should ensure that Vaughan makes a bold bid to get back to winning ways. He has taken on useful company all season, including the Ebor at York where he disappointed somewhat, but the son of Machiavellian responded well to a first-time visor when third to Ouninpohja here last time, and a similar effort should see him home, providing the ground does not ease. Topkat is also dropped down in grade, and having been successful at Salisbury and just touched off at Bath the time before last, is also on the short-list along with Top The Charts who found the longer trip and ground against him here last time. Suivez Moi is still a maiden and tries today's trip for the first time, but has been consistent enough to warrant a mention along with Pagan Magic. Blue Torpedo has the assistance of Johnny Murtagh so must also not be under-estimated, but in an above average claimer we prefer his stablemate Vaughan.
