Northern Dare is given the chance to atone for a poor display and is preferred to Johannes and Barney McGrew amongst others. The selection signed off last season with a second place finish to the handicap blot Utmost Respect in the Silver Cup at Ayr and resumed from where he'd left off with a cracking effort at the Curragh. His latest run at Newmarket was too bad to be true and he's taken to bounce back to form this evening. Inter Vision has his work cut out under a penalty and of more interest are High Curragh and Johannes who were only separated by half a length last time. Johannes hasn't really gone on from an encouraging start to his career but that was a promising run and he's well handicapped on his old form. Barney McGrew can be rated far better than the bare form of his run at York as he was badly hampered when beginning to make his move. He still has the scope for further improvement but does need some luck in running. Northern Dare is more straightforward and is preferred.
