At The Bar is selected in a poor contest, with Dusty Devil, Silver Rocket, and Par Excellence others worth a mention at least. On the strength of his last effort at Wolverhampton, At The Bar must have as good a chance as any of opening his account, with the further drop in grade to help. Dean Ivory's juvenile had been mixing it with better company prior to that effort, finishing down the field behind Azygous here at Lingfield, but can keep improving now that the penny has dropped. He had Dusty Devil well behind at Wolverhampton, and there is no reason why Bill Turner's charge should reverse the form, so he is worth taking on. Silver Rocket ran out of steam when eventually fourth at Beverley last time and may be found wanting again, even in this company, while Par Excellence, a stablemate of Dusty Devil, has had many chances to shine already. At The Bar is taken to go one better.
