Chiliali is a tentative alternative against the likely warm favourite Il Pranzo, with Piddies Pride also expected to run well. Alan Berry's filly is making her Lingfield debut but has put in some very decent efforts in similar contests at Southwell. The most recent was at the end of December when a close up fourth to Little Biscuit. She receives plenty of weight from the principals here and can take full advantage. Il Pranzo has obvious claims having landed a better race than this earlier this month. He wasn't disgraced next time in a handicap and he will be a tough nut to crack today. Piddies Pride won a similar race to this last week in pretty good style, he is not the most reliable of customers but looks the best of the remainder. So a fascinating little race and the value bet does appear to be Chilali, and this is our sporting selection
