In depth

Verdict

Top-weight Banoo can score her first victory here at the main expense of Cove Mountain and Crouch End Flyer. The selection stepped right up on her career performances with a second behind Romping Home, battling on tenaciously, the front two drawing well clear of the remainder. Cove Mountain bids for the hat-trick but the handicapper has taken a dim view of both his successes as he has suffered an aggregate rise of 22lb. He has raced over 2m 4f once before on soft ground but the hope would be this increase in trip can bring about the necessary improvement to counteract the hike in the weights. Crouch End Flyer won in the style of a horse on the upgrade around Towcester last time. This additional four furlongs should suit. Craughwell Suas and Talkingstick are others for the shortlist but Banoo gets the vote.
