SYVILLA is the one we'll side with here, in preference to Shy and Wanasah, but this race comes with the usual warning of check the market, given there are three debutantes and four seeing a track for only the second time. In previous years the market's got it right, with the last five winners of this race being short priced favourites. Syvilla has been runner up in her last three runs, but looks to be well capable of winning this. The ground shouldn't pose problems. Shy is consistently involved at the finish, but has yet to be tested on this kind of surface, so that would be a concern about her chances. Wanasah is a Michael Jarvis debutant, and perhaps significantly his only runner on the card. He's got a good strike rate with his three year olds this season, and market support might be encouraging. But we'll side with experience, and go with Syvilla.
