Olympic bronze medallist Tom Daley returned to winning ways as he won the three-metre springboard synchro alongside Jack Laugher at the World Junior Diving Championships in Adelaide.
Daley said: "It was a crazy competition. I don't usually do springboard and Jack rarely does synchro so we weren't sure how we would get on beforehand. "We had a slightly easier list than some of our competitors but we executed all the dives well and steadily built a lead throughout the competition. It's my first gold medal at a junior worlds and it is great to say I am junior world champion." Diving partner Laugher was pleased to achieve his double gold and put the memory of a forgettable Olympics behind him. Having established himself inside the world's top 10 springboarders in the past 12 months, Laugher crashed out in the first round of the 3m in London. Laugher added: "It was my aim to come out here and put the Olympics behind me, to show that I am a good diver and that I can come back from a bad experience stronger. "On my first dive I just wanted to do well and get myself pumped up for the competition. The first went and so did my second and it went from there. "It was great I got a 10 for one of my dives in my individual event yesterday which is amazing. I've come back strongly and yeah, I'm really chuffed. "I have got a day off tomorrow so I will train in the morning, then do some homework and get ready for the one metre competition on Thursday."
