Last week Alex Ferguson preserved his lead at the top of the Sky Sports Pundits rankings, thanks to another good week from Tom Brady, as well as the continued breakout of Todd Gurley.
Here are his picks for Week 9 of the NFL season and the news about who's going to be quarterback is stunning…
QUARTERBACK - Tom Brady (New England Patriots)
Brady's been on fire this season, to the point that some people are saying that he's playing the best that they've seen from him in his career. He's certainly opening up defences like it. And against Washington's pass 'D', which gives up 230 yards/game, he should be fine. Teams look worse than average against him and Bill Belichick. Far worse.
RUNNING BACK - Todd Gurley (St Louis Rams)
Gurley's on fire at the moment. Although Minnesota defence has been brilliant of late after Week 1 against Carlos Hyde, this is the first good RB they've faced for a while. That's why I'm putting Gurley in….shock factor.
RUNNING BACK - Devonta Freeman (Atlanta Falcons)
I love Devonta Freeman. He's a consistent performer, putting 100-yard all-purpose yard games seemingly every week. Against San Francisco, which doesn't have a very good 'D' - he should flourish. Should being the operative word…
WIDE RECEIVER - Julian Edelman (New England Patriots)
On Thursday night Edelman got his revenge on me for leaving him out by putting up 81 yards and two touchdowns. This week, I'm not making the same silly mistake.
WIDE RECEIVER - Malcom Floyd (San Diego Chargers)
Now Keenan Allen is out with kidney issues and Antonio Gates isn't getting a huge amount of passes, we should see Floyd get a good amount of yards against the Bears, who have given up 16 TDs to passers (3rd in the NFL).
TIGHT END - Rob Gronkowski (New England Patriots)
Because Gronk scores touchdowns. And we need touchdowns on our team.
DEFENCE - Atlanta Falcons
This could easily be Philadelphia vs Dallas, but I'm going for Atlanta simply because the 49ers offense is horrible, and I don't trust Blaine Gabbert to become the next Joe Montana on the 49ers team they face.
KICKER - Brandon McManus (Denver Broncos)
I am going for McManus because he averages a tidy 11.4 points per game, and he faces the Indianapolis Colts in a dome, which is kicker-friendly.
