New England's Stephen Gostkowski kicked a 54-yard field goal with just one second remaining to give the Patriots a dramatic 27-26 victory over the New York Giants.
Quarterback Tom Brady completed a pass on fourth-and-10 during the final drive which got the ball just within Gostkowski's range for his late winner.
New York had gone ahead through Josh Brown's field goal with 1:47 remaining but the Patriots came back to edge them out at the climax.
That extended their unbeaten start to nine games and they and the Carolina Panthers are now the only teams with perfect records.
The Panthers were 27-10 winners at the Tennessee Titans, with Cam Newton completing his first 11 passes - the longest streak of his career - as he ran in a touchdown and passed for another score.
