Layla Guscoth is the latest England international to head for Australia, while Team Bath have confirmed Imogen Allison will return for 2019.

Guscoth, part of the Roses squad that finished second in the Quad Series, played a starring role for the Blue & Gold last season and her performances have earned high praise.

It began with a return to the England squad and, after starting all three games, it has now been confirmed that she will be joining Roses team-mate Beth Cobden at Adelaide Thunderbirds.

"I am really looking forward to the opportunity to train in a professional environment and play in the best league in the world," Guscoth told the Thunderbirds website.

"I've been watching the SSN (Suncorp Super Netball) for the past two seasons and can't wait to play in the fast, ferocious and skilled competition.

"Signing with the Adelaide Thunderbirds is a great opportunity to work with Tania Obst who is a great coach, and to play and train with great netballers including some of my Roses team-mates and top defenders in Kate Shimmin and Shamera Sterling.

"The Thunderbirds have an exciting vision and I am thrilled to be a part of it all," Guscoth, who is a doctor, added. "I'm also looking forward to living near the beach."

The defender is the latest big name to depart the Vitality Superleague for Suncorp Netball. Loughborough have seen Peace Proscovia and Shamera Sterling leave, while Natalie Haythornthwaite has linked with up Helen Housby at NSW Swifts.

It has not all been one way, though, Bath have pulled off the signing of the off-season with England star mid-courter Serena Guthrie returning to the franchise after four superb years in Australia and New Zealand.

Having lost in the semi-finals for each of the last two seasons, Bath have already confirmed the return of Rachel Shaw, Mia Ritchie, Eboni Beckford-Chambers and Sophie Drakeford-Lewis for 2019, and joining them will be Imogen Allison.

The England U21 international is back for a third season and is relishing the chance to link-up with Bath's big-name arrival.

"Serena is a hero of mine and I think she is going to teach me a lot this year," said Allison.

"She is a truly world-class wing-defence and centre, and that is what I aspire to be. She turns over ball that no one else would think is possible and she works incredibly hard for her team-mates, she is an inspiration."
