Wasps Netball resume control of Superleague by beating Team Bath
Monday 23 April 2018 18:53, UK
Wasps Netball further extended their lead atop the Superleague on Sunday with a 60-44 win against Team Bath.
Wasps are perfect after nine games, giving them a nine-point advantage over second-placed Manchester Thunder who have played two less.
Bath drop to fifth, also below Hertfordshire Mavericks and Loughborough Lightning.
Wasps were immediately back on song as the Superleague resumed after a month-long break to cater for the Commonwealth Games, in which Tracey Neville's England Roses took the gold medal.
Wasps and Bath both fielded gold medallists, with Natalie Haythornwaite impressing for the former.
They opened a 10-goal lead by the third quarter which was slowly extended by George Fisher as Bath's resistance began to wane. Wasps dominated the final 15 minutes to confirm a ninth consecutive win.
This weekend's other results
Loughborough Lightning 54-41 Hertfordshire Mavericks
Team Northumbria 43-47 Severn Stars
Manchester Thunder 62-58 Surrey Storm
