Terrence Ross enjoyed nearly five years in Toronto after being drafted by the Raptors in 2012.
In January 2014, he scored a career-high and franchise-tying 51 points at the LA Clippers.
Then, in 2017, he was traded along with a first-round pick to Orlando in a deal for Serge Ibaka.
On Sunday, he reminded the Raptors what they were missing as he drained 28 points and grabbed nine rebounds in the Magic's 113-98 win.
Ross was 9-of-21 from the floor and 3-of-8 from beyond the arc as the Magic ended the Raptors' seven-game winning streak to maintain their hopes of making the post-season.
Kyle Lowry said of his former team-mate: "So that part I don't like. Him being a friend of mine, it's good to see him playing the way he's playing. He's always been a talented player.
"This is just him getting older. More experience is just going to make him get better at basketball."
Speaking after the game, Ross played down any satisfaction on getting one over on his former team, saying: "It feels good to take a step in the right direction.
"We can't take any games off, every game is going to be a dogfight so we have to come with it.
We got to keep it going, worry about tomorrow and keep this thing going."
