Kawhi Leonard's buzzer-beater wins Game 7 for Toronto Raptors against Philadelphia 76ers
Monday 13 May 2019 07:08, UK
Kawhi Leonard made the first Game 7 buzzer-beater in NBA history to earn the Toronto Raptors a 92-90 win in their decisive encounter with the Philadelphia 76ers.
As time expired with the scores tied at 90, Leonard put up a fadeaway jump-shot from the right corner that bounced up and around the rim before finally dropping through the net.
Leonard finished with 41 points and eight rebounds, and the winning shot came after Jimmy Butler tied the game on a layup with 4.2 seconds remaining.
Team-mates swarmed Leonard along the baseline and the All-Star let out a scream as fans danced in the stands.
Leonard's shot was only the second buzzer-beater in a winner-takes-all game in the playoffs, following Michael Jordan's Game 5 winner for the Chicago Bulls against the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first round of the 1989 postseason.
