Practice partners Neil Robertson and Joe Perry will contest the first ranking event final of the season at the Wuxi Classic.
The pair, who are good friends and who regularly share frames in Cambridge, both came through their semi-finals on Saturday.
Defending champion Robertson was a 6-3 winner over fellow World Championship semi-finalist Barry Hawkins, while Perry got past Martin Gould 6-4.
Australian Robertson reeled off three frames in a row to see off Hawkins, with his highest contribution a 128.
Perry eventually got over the line despite Gould digging in towards the end of their evening match.
"I'm going to be very determined tomorrow and nothing less than a win is acceptable," Robertson told World Snooker's official website.
"It's nice to get to the final of the first event of the season. But I don't want to come this far then get beaten in the final, especially as defending champion. I want to go to Australia with this title under my belt."
