IOC President Thomas Bach will chair talks with North & South Korean Olympic officials on January  20 in Lausanne to decide how many North Korean athletes and delegates can attend next month's Winter Olympics in PyeongChang.

At the meeting, a decision will be made as to whether the North Korean flag can be displayed, their anthem played and whether or not North and South Korea parade together.

The North and South Korean governments held talks yesterday at which it was agreed by the North that they wish to attend the Games.

Registrations deadlines have long passed, but the IOC are willing to facilitate requests due to wider geopolitical consequences

On Tuesday, Bach described North Korea's decision to take part in the games as a 'great step forward'.
