Cain Velasquez needed just 81 seconds to retain his UFC heavyweight championship against Antonio Silva at UFC 160.
Rubber match in line for heavyweight supremos
Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos look set to settle the score in a rubber match for the UFC heavyweight championship after both were victorious at UFC 160. Champion Velasquez needed just 81 seconds to stop Antonio 'Bigfoot' Silva in the main-event after dos Santos had spectacularly knocked out Mark Hunt. Velasquez, who TKO'd Silva in the first round a year ago, repeated the trick in his first title defence since regaining the strap from dos Santos last year. After dropping "Bigfoot" with a straight right he smothered his grounded body, landing 11 unanswered blows to end the fight. Silva later complained of an early stoppage, but referee Mario Yamasaki appeared correct in halting the fight early in the first round. Dos Santos had previously finished Hunt with an unexpected spinning back kick - reminiscent to Brazilian compatriot Vitor Belfort's finish over Luke Rockhold a week ago at UFC on FX 8. A huge overhand right dropped Hunt in the first round but dos Santos remained patient and ended the UFC's "Fight of the Night" in the third round. TJ Grant's upset over Gray Maynard earned "Knockout of the Night" at Mike Tyson's request, who was in attendance at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. As a result, Grant moves on to a UFC lightweight championship match with champion Benson Henderson in the near future. Elsewhere, Glover Teixeira took the submission bonus by beating James Te Huna, while Donald Cerrone heavily bloodied fellow lightweight KJ Noons en route to a unanimous decision.See all of Sky Bet's UFC betting markets here
