Nottingham kept up the pressure on Elite League leaders Belfast with an 8-3 demolition of the Braehead Clan. The Panthers scored four goals in the second period to blow away their hosts and make it six wins on the spin. Braehead had gone into the fixture having triumphed in their opening three home league games and only trailed 2-1 at the end of the opening 20 minutes. Ex-Panther Jade Galbraith was on hand to net from close range after just over two minutes to give the Clan the lead, though Nottingham hit back with goals from David Beauregard and David Clarke. The hosts thought they were back on level terms in the 23rd minute but the puck was nestled in the back of the net on the outside. Moments later Jordan Fox had scored at the other end, with Robert Lachowicz soon adding another to open up a three-goal advantage for the Panthers. Stephen Lee put them further clear at 31.50 and then Fox registered his second goal of the game less than a minute later. A powerplay goal from Ryan Campbell at 37.35 had the home fans cheering again, though their team were on course to suffer their heaviest loss at home in their short history. Brandon Benedict added a seventh at 42.22 for the Panthers and although Tim Wederburn scored for the clan to double his tally for the year, Clarke rounded out the scoring by completing his brace six seconds from the end.
