Sheffield Steelers scored the most goals by one team in an Elite League game as they claimed a crushing 18-1 win against Edinburgh Capitals.
Neil Clark found the net five times while Tom Squires and Robert Dowd both hit hat-tricks in the record-breaking performance.
It was 6-0 by the end of the first period as Clark grabbed two to go along with strikes from Squires, Dowd, Rob Globke and Ben Simon.
The rout continued in the second as Dowd, Globke and Clark all scored again to add to goals from Joey Talbot, Jason Hewitt and Kevin Bolibruck. Edinburgh's Jeff Hutchins prevented a shutout.
In the third, Squires and Dowd both completed their hat-tricks, Clark grabbed two more goals and the other strike came from Derek Campbell.
Ryan Finnerty slotted home a minute into overtime to extend
Cardiff Devils' winning run to 22 games in all competitions as they beat
Coventry Blaze 5-4.
There were no goals in the first period, with the opening score coming at 28.53 through Coventry's Dan Carlson, but the Devils levelled on a powerplay through Max Birbraer.
The Blaze quickly regained their lead as Ross Venus slotted home but again Cardiff came back when Phil Hill squared it up.
The goals flowed back-and-forth in the third period, as Coventry edged ahead again only for Cardiff to turn it around with two goals from Hill and Birbraer.
Overtime
Aaron Nell sent the game into overtime with an equaliser at 55.50, and in the added period Cardiff skipper Finnerty fired home to claim the win.
Belfast Giants gained revenge for their Friday night defeat to
Nottingham Panthers by claiming a 7-2 win in the second contest of the double-header.
Simon Lambert opened the scoring just before the eight-minute mark before Dan Welch and Colin Hemingway made it 3-0 by the end of the first period.
The lead was extended to five in the second period through Brandon Benedict and Lambert again before Rob Bellamy finally got the Panthers on the board.
Lambert completed his hat-trick just before the end of the second period before Hemingway made it seven in the third, with Panthers skipper Danny Meyers netting a consolation at 52.42.
Braehead Clan saw off the spirited challenge of a
Newcastle Vipers team that travelled with only 11 skaters to secure a 5-2 victory.
The Clan started flat and it was no shock when Mike Prpich fired the visitors into the lead at 15.02, though Bobby Chamont brought the scores level before the end of the first period.
Braehead made a much brighter start to the second period, with Matt Haywood and Dominic Noel making it 3-1 before Newcastle's Jaroslaw Rzesutko halved the deficit.
The game remained in the balance inside the final five minutes but player/coach Bruce Richardson scored late on the kill the contest off and Kyle Bruce hit an empty net with six seconds left.
