Darts betting odds

Premier League darts gets underway on Thursday and Sky Bet will offer unrivalled darts betting markets.

Last Updated: 10/02/10 5:40pm

Premier League darts gets underway on Thursday at The O2 Arena and Sky Bet will offer unrivalled darts betting markets for all 15 weeks of the competition.

The Harrogate firm, who are the official bookmaker of the Whyte & Mackay Premier League, are offering six in-play markets on every match and more than 20 ante-post markets and a host of specials.

Four-time Premier League champion Phil Taylor is Sky Bet's 2/5 favourite to take the crown despite being a doubt for the opening round of matches with a virus, while last year's champion James Wade is 7/1 second favourite, with Raymond van Barneveld next best at 10/1.

World Championship runner-up Simon Whitlock has come in for early support and Sky Bet have cut his odds of winning the league at his first attempt to 12/1 (from 14/1).

Sky Bet's chief darts compiler Craig Ibbotson said: "Taylor again looks the form horse going into the tournament but it's certainly the strongest field ever assembled and every point will have to be earned.

"Debutant Simon Whitlock could be the lively player in the market if he maintains his awesome World Championship form and he has come in for early support."

A wide range of specials are available and after Taylor hit 56 maximums in the league last year, Sky Bet offer 3/1 for the world number one again to record the most 180's. Adrian Lewis is Sky Bet's 7/4 favourite to hit the most tournament 180's, with debutant Whitlock a 4/1 chance.

Sky Bet also go 100/30 that this year sees a new champion crowned, while it's 1/5 that former winners Taylor or Wade take the title again.
