Sky Academy Sports Scholarships: Sam Oldham is back in action after ankle injury

Hi guys, I’m pleased to let you know that I've made some massive gains recently in my recovery.
I made my comeback in the British Team Championships where we took second place. It was my first time competing for Loughborough University so it was great to get out there with the lads that I train with day in, day out.
I was quite cautious and hesitant about how my ankle would hold up but as soon as I made that first landing I knew I was ready, and I relished the opportunity to be back on the competition floor so soon after picking up the injury.
I'm now working on improving my ankle strength and flexibility and continue to improve on floor and vault. Gradually I'm beginning to rebuild my floor and vault skills and it feels great to be back doing proper gymnastics on those events again.
I’m also really looking forward to a day with my fellow Scholars at the National Cycling Centre in Manchester in December. I'd like to say a massive thanks to everyone involved with the Sky Academy Sports Scholarships programme for all their support and best wishes during these past few months.
Being a Scholar has had a major impact on how quickly I've been able to recover and get back in action. I'm now looking forward to winter training and some chill time over Christmas.
