The Sky Sports News iPhone app has won top prize at the Carphone Warehouse Appys Awards.
The Sky Sports News app won the Best Sport App category and was then crowned App of the Year 2012 in a unanimous decision by the judges.
The 'Appys' website described why it had won:
"With a stunning variety of content on offer, Sky Sports News is a must for sports fans of any discipline - from golf to rugby league to F1 - it meshes neatly with Sky's Go service to give Sky subscribers live sports footage on the move and a live radio feed (available to all) means you're only ever a set of earphones away from sporting nirvana.
"And with such a raft of content on offer sitting at your desk now means never having to miss out on the latest sporting action."
Sixty shortlisted apps were selected by a panel of judges from thousands of nominations made by employees at Carphone Warehouse. It was then down to the public to decide the winners; during the six week voting period over 115,000 votes were cast.
