Brad Keselowski made history on Saturday by becoming Kentucky Speedway's first repeat winner after dominating the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race.

The 2012 race winner started on pole and led for 199 of the 267 laps to record his second victory of the season and 12th of his career.

The decisive moment of the race came on Lap 248 when the Penske Racing driver chased down and passed leader Kyle Busch and then pulled away to secure the win by 1.014 seconds, his first from pole.

Busch kept on to finish second, followed by Ryan Newman, Matt Kenseth and Dale Earnhardt Jr, who rallied from a 29th-place start.

Points leader Jeff Gordon finished sixth and leads Jimmie Johnson, who was 10th after starting 25th, and Earnhardt by 24 points.

Keselowski’s teammate Joey Logano started second and led for 37 laps and Busch for 31 in a race that featured 12 lead changes, all but one featuring Penske drivers.

However, Keselowski's celebrations were marred after he cut his hand on a broken champagne bottle and he had to be taken to the infield care centre.
