Nairo Quintana to ride Vuelta a Espana, his Movistar team announce

Nairo Quintana will ride the Vuelta a Espana later this month, his Movistar team have announced.
The 25-year-old Colombian took the decision to race the season’s third and final grand tour after finishing second to Chris Froome at the Tour de France.
Quintana made the Tour his main goal for the 2015 season but, given that he appeared to get stronger as the race wore on and missed out on victory by just 1min 12sec, he has now opted to target the Vuelta, which starts on August 22.
He is likely to share the leadership of Movistar with Alejandro Valverde, who finished third at the Tour.
Quintana, who will aim to add a second grand tour victory to his 2014 Giro d'Italia title, is the second big name to announce his participation in the Vuelta, after Astana revealed last week that Vincenzo Nibali would be part of their line-up.
