Movistar sign Winner Anacona and Rory Sutherland on two-year contracts

Movistar have signed Colombia’s Winner Anacona and Australia’s Rory Sutherland on two-year deals.

Climbing expert Anacona won a stage of this summer’s Vuelta a Espana and will join from Lampre-Merida, where he has spent the last three seasons.

The 26-year-old is likely to provide support to Movistar team leaders Nairo Quintana and Alejandro Valverde in the mountains.

All-rounder Sutherland, 32, will join from Tinkoff-Saxo after two seasons with the Russian squad.

Both moves will take place on January 1.

The pair are Movistar’s third and fourth new signings for the 2015 campaign after Spanish duo Ruben Fernandez and Marc Soler both previously agreed to join.
