Champion runner Lauren Jeska has been remanded in custody, charged with the attempted murder of a UK Athletics official.
Jeska has been charged with the attempted murder of UK Athletics' head of human resources and welfare, Ralph Knibbs, who was stabbed at Birmingham's Alexander Stadium on Tuesday.
The 41-year-old is also charged with two counts of unlawful and malicious wounding with intent to inflict grievous bodily harm on two other UK athletics officials, accountant Tim Begley and finance and operations director Kevan Taylor.
Jeska has also been charged with possession of bladed articles in a public place, namely a 12cm kitchen knife, a 13cm kitchen knife and a 30cm bread knife.
She did not enter a plea and spoke only to confirm her name, date of birth and address during a brief hearing at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Wednesday. She was remanded into custody and ordered to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on April 25.
Police officers were called to the Perry Barr venue - home to UK Athletics offices - on Tuesday morning after reports a man had been stabbed. Mr Knibbs - a former Bristol Rugby and England Under-23 international - remains in a stable condition in hospital.
Jeska is a former British and three-time English fell-running champion.
