UFC Saudi Arabia: Michael 'Venom' Page hands Sharabutdin Magomedov's first MMA defeat

Michael 'Venom' Page set down a marker to be a welterweight title challenger after he ended Sharabutdin Magomedov's undefeated reign at UFC Saudi Arabia.

After beating one-eyed Russian Shara Magomedov, Micheal 'Vemon' Page says he is targeting a clash with fellow Englishman Leon Edwards.

Britain's Michael 'Venom' Page ended Sharabutdin Magomedov's undeated MMA run with a unanimous decision at UFC Saudi Arabia.

In a closely contested fight, Page (23-3) was given scores of 30-27, 30-27 and 29-28, improving to 2-1 in the UFC.

Page felt there was still room to improve, telling UFC.com: "I wanted to do more.

"My shot count, my punch count, my kick count could have been higher.

"I was just a bit hesitant and for whatever reason, I have to go back to the lab, fix it, get rid of it up here, and add it in there."

Page feels that a shot at the title should be an option this year.

"I have to wait and see what I'm given, in terms of my next opponent, in terms of the ranking.

"I'm hoping a couple of fights and then a title - it just depends.

"Welterweight division is moving and shifting all the time. I could be one fight away, I could be two fights away, It could be three fights.

"I just want to do as many fights this year, so I can edge closer to that title fight."
