Hideki Matsuyama got off to a fantastic start at the US Open as he hit a 100-yard Eagle at the 15th, early in the first round at Erin Hills.
The Japanese golfer, who started at the 10th hole on Thursday morning in a group alongside Jon Rahm and Rickie Fowler, had hit four pars and then a disappointing bogey at the par-five 14th, before recovering brilliantly with his superb 103.5 yard effort.
He started with a 265-yard drive at the par-four hole to set himself up, before hitting his second shot long and letting it spin back into the hole.
Matsuyama is chasing a first major victory at Erin Hills after an excellent year so far that he has seen him claim two PGA titles.
