Lee Westwood was among the players to hole out from the fairway at the US Open

Oakmont's notorious putting surfaces did not quite carry the US Open fear factor but many of the players took them out of the equation.
A memorable week in Pennsylvania saw Dustin Johnson claim the US Open title and the year's second major but there was plenty to shout about for some of the players who saw their iron and wedge play rewarded.
Lee Westwood and Japan's Yusaku Miyazoto take the credit for each pulling off a pair of eagles from half down the fairway.
Westwood's title hopes may have faded on the final day but on day one, he holed brilliantly on four to move into a share of the lead
And Westwood landed his second eagle of the week when he holed his second shot from the fairway on the fifth hole, standing some 130 yards from the pin.
Japan's Miyazoto may just edge Westwood courtesy of his celebrations, firstly in the third round.......
And then again in the final round, and we must tip the hat towards Miguel Angel Jimenez for the clear inspiration behind the moves
Gregory Bourdy was in the hunt for a maiden maiden at one stage and shots like this 137-yard eagle played a handy part in that.
And Spanish amateur Jon Rahm performed impressively all week, none more so than his own entry into the pitch of the week contest.
